Poly-Monde is a student initiative bringing together 21 future engineers from Polytechnique Montréal, whose goal is to establish an economic comparison between the province of Quebec and other regions of the world. For the last 30 years, the members of every Poly-Monde mission have visited 60 companies across three main business sectors. This year, the mission will focus on information and communication technologies (ICTs), multimedia and aerospace. In May 2022, Poly-Monde members will fly to west coast of North America to complete the international part of their mission. Upon their return, the students will condense their learning in a mission report.
The information and communication technologies (ICTs) sector is the set of technological tools and resources that allow the transmission, recording, creation, sharing or exchange of information. Multimedia is wide and includes various sectors suck as cinema, video games or numeric art. In a domain which is in constant evolution because of its proximity with high technologies, both Quebec and the west coast of North America can present themselves as an example to follow.
The aerospace sector includes the fields of aeronautics and astronautics. In order to study this important economic sector for both Quebec and the North American west coast, three aerospace sub-sectors were identified: transportation, manufacturing and space exploration.
